3’-4’ height, blooms July through September. Prefers dry to medium soil moisture and full sun. Keystone species. Spreads by rhizomes - meaning it will spread underground, putting out roots and shoots - but not as aggressive as other native sunflower species. Naked stem & basal rosette.
