Bur Oak (Quercus macrocarpa)

The Bur Oak is a deciduous tree that reaches 80 to 100 feet in height. Flowers April through May and produces acorns October through November. Prefers wet to medium soil moisture and full sun.

Long-lived and rugged. Lifespan is between 200-400 years. 4"-6" long drooping catkins coincide with emerging leaves in the spring. Some of the largest acorns of any oak species.
