The Pawpaw is a deciduous tree that reaches 6 feet in height. Expect maroon blooms March through April and fruits July through September. Prefers wet to medium soil moisture and partial shade to full shade. Can survive in full sun with supplemental water in the summer months.

North America's largest native fruit. Flavor resembles mango and banana and texture is custard-like. Larval host for Zebra Swallowtails. Plant two or more Pawpaws with different genetics for best fruit set.
